The Senior Program Manager - Finance Systems is the key driver of change and evolution for our Finance Systems at TMX Group. Our Finance Systems comprise primarily Workday Financial Management and Workday Adaptive Planning. Reporting to the Director, Financial Analysis and Insights, the role has four core functions:
-Finance Systems Program Governance
-Agile Project Management
-Workday/Adaptive Maintenance and Support
-Finance Data Governance

Key Accountabilities:

40% - Finance Systems Program Governance

  • Build the technical vision and roadmap for Workday/Adaptive with the goal of improving adoption and user experience through new features and efficiencies

  • Represent Workday and Adaptive as the Subject Matter Expert to Finance Senior Leadership and Finance Innovation Committee in all aspects of delivery including ongoing projects/enhancements, system issues, risks, partner concerns, resourcing etc.

  • Be the facilitator between Finance Functional Leads, Corporate IT and external vendors

  • Facilitate and handle the Workday/Adaptive Functional Lead meetings including governance, communications, tracking etc.

30% - Agile Project Management

  • Drive delivery for all Workday/Adaptive projects/enhancements in Finance

  • Implement an Agile delivery model to include regular standups, planning, reviews etc.

  • Develop and maintain key project artifacts including project plans, business cases, implementation plans, test strategies/plans, training etc.

  • Run discovery sessions with team members to elicit requirements

  • Facilitate regular communications with project team and sponsors

20% - Workday/Adaptive Maintenance and Support

  • Build an efficient user support model for Workday communications, training and general queries

  • Act as backup to our Finance technical lead in areas of Workday/Adaptive tool administration, report/template maintenance etc.

10% - Finance Data Governance

  • Maintain Finance Systems data catalog in Enterprise Data Governance

  • Maintain Finance Data Dictionary

  • Identify and investigate data quality issues within Workday and Adaptive

Must Haves:

  • 5+ years experience implementing ERP systems in a medium to large organization

  • 5+ years experience working in a Finance or IT environment

  • Deep understanding of Accounting ERP systems (i.e Workday Financials)

  • Ability to solicit, interpret and ultimately inspire change in the Finance organization

  • Ability to build relationships and facilitate multiple stakeholders with competing priorities and interests

  • Ability to translate highly technical concepts into digestible information for all audiences

  • Highly organized with strong documentation skills

  • Excellent MS Excel skills

Nice to Haves:

  • Workday/Adaptive Experience

  • PMP or Certified Scrum Master Certification

  • Google Workspace Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides etc.)

  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI

  • Understanding of accounting principles and standard experience in accounting, controllership, and analysis
