Job Description:

As a Senior Product Manager for Supply Chain, you will play a critical role as a buyer in the set up and maintenance of vendors producing our current and future product lines. You will be responsible for essential activities such as product costing, product quality, management of tooling, and duplicating manufacturing setups in North America for our organization. You will be working alongside an already experienced team looking to add a new member to improve manufacturing capabilities overall. Your focus will be on ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods while maintaining high standards of quality and supplier performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, supply chain, and management, to support the overall supply chain objectives and deliver exceptional results. For 2024, there is a current need to expand our domestic suppliers in North America to meet the demands of our customers.

· Report directly to Supply Chain Manager

· Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate favorable terms and conditions

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand the demand requirements and develop effective manufacturing and procurement strategies

· Source and select suppliers based on quality, price, delivery, and service criteria

· Act as the liaison between Engineering and Supply Chain departments by reviewing and approving top level, assembly, and part drawings for all active projects

· Finalize project specific BOMs with Engineering team, ensuring part numbers and part descriptions are inline with company standards

· Review and approve product GD&T stack up analyses using vendor specific manufacturing tolerances and constraints

· Finalize and approve packaging plans, cargo loading plans, and part specific packaging drawings

· Supervise quality related tasks to ensure quality requirements are achieved by suppliers for all active projects

· Review and approve new engineering designs for manufacturability

· Setup and launch product specific tooling with new and existing vendors

· Generate purchase orders, review purchase requisitions, and ensure timely placement of orders to meet production schedules and inventory requirements

· Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any issues related to order fulfillment, delivery delays, or quality concerns

· Collaborate with the logistics team to optimize transportation and delivery schedules, ensuring timely receipt of goods

· Monitor and manage supplier performance, including delivery times, product quality, and cost compliance

· Analyze and evaluate supplier proposals, contracts, and pricing to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements

· Maintain accurate procurement records, including supplier information, contracts, and purchase orders

· Continuously monitor market trends, industry developments, and supplier capabilities to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement

· Stay up to date with relevant regulations and compliance requirements related to procurement and supply chain activities

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering

· Minimum of 10+ years' experience managing product lines preferably within high volume manufacturing industries such as automotive, energy and structural

· Familiarity with volume production processes including forming, welding, stamping, machining, casting, and coating

· Experience with the review of supplier tooling design, capabilities, and capacities

· Experience working with 3D modeling CAD tools such as SolidWorks

· Knowledge in dealing with engineering drawings, GD&T, and stack up analysis

· Experience using ERP software and tools

· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools, especially Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project

· Solid understanding of procurement best practices, supplier management, contract negotiation, supply chain processes, inventory management, and logistics concepts

· Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement and supply chain operations

· Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders

· Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive informed decision-making

· Self-motivated team player with demonstrated problem solving skills and mechanical aptitude

· Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to articulate ideas clearly both with the written and spoken word

· Ability to work under time constraints and handle multiple tasks with little or no supervision to produce a quality product in a timely fashion

· Experience working in a multi-cultural, multi-national environment, working through issues and achieving resolution to challenging problems with little or no supervision

· Demonstrated attention to detail and problem-solving ability

· Demonstrated ability to be productive, positive and pro-active in a stressful work environment, by prioritizing work and adapting to changing work demands

· English language fluency - verbal and written required
