One Data Streaming Platform.Data Connects Us.About The Role Confluent Cloud is built on Kora , a collection ofcloud data services that serves up the Kafka protocol for our thousands ofcustomers and their tens of thousands of clusters. We are hiring a ProductManager to join work with our team in advancing our next-gen architectureto help our customers take event streaming to the next level. A successfulcandidate will collaborate closely with customers and internal stakeholdersto improve and innovate on the Kora Storage layer. Your expertise andvision will be instrumental in solidifying Confluent Cloud as the premierdestination for deploying Kafka workloads and streaming in general. What You Will DoAs a Kora Storage Product Manager, you will be responsible forspearheading initiatives across three primary domains: Confluent Cloud Evolution: Drive the development and enhancements ofour state-of-the-art storage engine to create new and innovative productsand take them to market. Drive the unification of operational and analytical data: Work withcustomers and internal stakeholders to help drive the roadmap of Tableflow– a recently announced feature that turns streaming data into Apache Iceberg tables at a push of a button. Work across teams: Create shared understanding and direction acrossengineering, product, business development, support, sales, and marketingteams within Confluent and externally with our partners.Responsibilities Execute Confluent’s Cloud’s Kora Storage Roadmap with a focus onhelping take innovative new products to market. Developing product and technical specifications for Tiered Storage ,Tableflow , and other exciting unannounced projects. Working closely with customers to help gather feedback, requirements,share our vision and roadmap, and deeply understand their user journeys. Educating Confluent’s field and the broader community about newfeatures. Be responsible for the whole lifecycle: Drive multi-company,cross-functional initiatives from conception through initial delivery, andongoing iteration after launch. Close the loop: Define quantitative and qualitative targets, measureperformance against them, share results with stakeholders, and incorporatethose learnings into the next development cycle. Manage complexity: Deliver value while handling the surprises andchallenges of a quickly evolving product, ambitious partnership targets,and a rapidly growing organization. Develop a strategic vision of where to invest our effort to help ourcustomers succeed. Think through a great end-to-end product experience with a focus ondetailed user stories. Create a roadmap to deliver that experience to customers.What Gives You An Edge 2 + years of software, or technical product management experience Experience with operational data systems, data warehouses, datalakes,or lakehouses. Demonstrated strongwritten and verbal communication Ability to empathize with Confluent Cloud Kafka users in order toprovide them a great experience. Ability to understand and learn new technical concepts quickly. Basic understanding of Cloud Infrastructure and services. Knowledge of Kafka or other streaming technologies preferred but notrequired.
