Overview

Hexagon's Autonomy & Positioning division, is looking for a Senior Compliance Engineer/Specialist to join other subject matter experts and play an essential role in our high-tech engineering and manufacturing company that is committed to customer service excellence and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Manager of Product Compliance, you will ensure our products meet stringent reliability, robustness, regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements. As a technical lead for product compliance, you will mentor and support staff during projects and be a liaison for external regulatory services. You are a highly organized, precise, motivated, confident, and clear communicator.  Your technical competence will assist and oversee all facets of HW verification projects: i.e. understanding of hardware requirements, detailed deliverables planning, interpretation of design documents and test requirements, planning of detailed test configurations, and proper application of product regulations.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Compliance Specialist you will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide the interpretation of global product compliance regulations and standards (e.g. EMC, EMI, Safety, RF) with respect to the A&P product portfolio
  • Lead the product compliance activities throughout the New Product Development and Lifecycle processes
  • Develop and implement standardized methodologies that ensure product compliance
  • Provide technical leadership, training and strategic presentations to all A&P cross functional teams
  • Work with project teams to remove any roadblocks and optimize project delivery for all product compliance tasks
  • Understand hardware requirements and design documents and develop comprehensive test strategies, procedures and plans
  • Derive and contribute to the continuous improvement initiatives related to compliance/verification processes and documentation
  • Assist in managing global homologation and type approvals
  • Defend your opinions and influence and collaborate with development teams to meet project objectives

Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • Electrical engineering degree or electronics technology diploma or related education
  • 8+ years of experience in a hardware verification and/or regulatory compliance testing including test methodologies and best practices
  • Knowledge of global wireless approval requirements, homologation and certification processes
  • Prior experience with regulatory requirements for electronic devices; Radio, EMC, EMI, Electrical Safety, European Directives (RED, LVD, EMC)
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs and computer skills
  • Knowledge and experience with radio technologies (RTK, Wi-Fi, BT, cellular)
  • Ability to attain necessary security clearances

Nice-to-Have:

  • Knowledge of GPS/GNSS
  • Understanding of measurement uncertainty, quality assurance and calibration
  • Experience with electronics used in these applications; Autonomy, Agriculture, Automotive, Marine, Military, Aerospace
  • Working knowledge of RoHS / REACH / WEEE / SCIP / GADSL
  • Experience with ISO 17025, ISO 16949
  • Able to travel (estimated as 5% of the time)
