Senior Process Engineer, Manufacturing Science & TechnologyVenor is recruiting for a Senior Process Engineer, Manufacturing Science & Technology on behalf of our client, a prominent bio-science enterprise operating in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.This is a full-time, permanent role situated in Windsor, NS.Key Responsibilities:The candidate will ensure robust systems are used during technology transfer to identify and mitigate risks. Responsibilities include analyzing processes for cycle time, equipment fit, technologies, and scale-up strategies, and working with teams to ensure new processes are feasible. They will develop process flow diagrams, mass balances, and energy balances, monitor process metrics, and identify areas for improvement. They will design, procure, install, commission, and qualify new pharmaceutical processes and equipment, collaborating to identify and qualify critical parameters and control strategies.They will lead quality programs, troubleshoot process equipment, and manage project tasks, ensuring adherence to budgets and schedules. This includes hands-on startup and troubleshooting of new equipment, developing, and updating AutoCAD drawings, and coordinating with contractors. The candidate will participate in project meetings, design reviews like P&ID and HAZOP, and prepare conceptual design packages and ROI reports. They will follow the Health and Safety Policy and perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.Required Qualifications and Skills:A bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or a related scientific discipline.Ten years of work experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or a similar regulated environment.Experience in scaling up biological processes from the lab to commercial scale.Design experience with upstream and/or downstream process equipment. Experience with pDNA and mRNA is an asset.Experience with fill/finish is an asset.Proven experience in the start-up and commissioning of facilities, process equipment, and instrumentation. Demonstrated experience in process scale-up, pilot, and commercial manufacturing. Financial acumen and an understanding of business metrics, with the ability to impact results. Effective communication skills, both written and oral. Basic understanding of fire and building codes and applicable quality and regulatory standards.We embrace a culture of belonging in the workplace.
