The Senior Policy Change & Reinsurance Coordinator manages and processes the complex inforce policy changes as per contract guidelines for Co-operators business and administers complex reinsurance for The Co-operators and Edge to ensure the reinsurance data is accurate and adheres to treaty parameters. This role also acts as a point of contact for questions and escalation for the Sr Policy Change & Reinsurance Administrator. How you will create impact: Responsible for every aspect of complex policy change processing including reinsurance review/processing for The Co-operators from receipt of the change request to policy issue and sending the contract to the Advisor for delivery to the client. Process complex contractual and non-contractual changes such as: Age misstatements, COI Changes, splits/exchanges, plan changes, UL death benefit option changes, reinstatements and rescissions. Understand the details required to process changes based on the specifications for each product (new and existing policies), understand the business rules and understand/audit adherence to treaty rules. Responsible to run the weekly TAI interface report, investigating TAI policy exception messages and taking appropriate action to correct errors and to generate claims notifications to the Reinsurers. Complete the monthly TAI interface process to determine the monthly premium payable to each reinsurer. Responsible to investigate and complete all Reinsurance related project cleanup work as identified through internal/external audits and/or reinsurers. Understand and be able to calculate and process all commission and persistency adjustments for each type of change; dependent on different commission guidelines for each product. Investigate, resolve and respond to escalated inquiries and/or problems related to policy change and reinsurance. To join our team: 3 years of previous experience specific to the industry. Completion of a post-secondary technical diploma as well as ARA and ACS designations are recommended.
