We are seeking a Senior Underwriter to join our expanding team, responsible for managing a portfolio of property and casualty (P&C) business within the Quebec region. This role entails cultivating relationships with key broker partners and clients, contributing to operational enhancements, and ensuring profitable growth.Responsibilities:Oversee a portfolio of new and renewal P&C business, fostering profitable growth in target lines.Collaborate with internal teams to enhance technical research and relationship-building efforts.Support the region’s new business objectives through targeted marketing and cross-selling initiatives.Ensure sound risk selection, exposure review, and adherence to underwriting guidelines.Foster strong relationships with brokers, clients, and prospects to deliver exceptional service and gather market insights.Manage multi-line account solutions, emphasizing product differentiators and value propositions.Contribute insights to refine underwriting processes and embrace new systems and procedures.Pursue continuous learning through industry events, seminars, and leveraging existing expertise.Undertake additional duties and projects as required.Skills & Qualifications:Minimum 3 years of commercial P&C underwriting experience.Post-secondary education with relevant insurance designations preferred.Advanced proficiency in both French and English.Familiarity with P&C policy wordings and their implications on claims.Proactive and analytical approach to driving profitable growth.Ability to engage in critical thinking and respect diverse perspectives.Skillful in providing and receiving constructive feedback.Effective communicator in internal and external settings.Adaptable to change and adept at navigating new systems.Champion of innovation with a growth-oriented mindset.Strong organizational and time management abilities.Collaborative team player across business units.
