Since 1994 Factor Gas Liquids Inc. (“Factor”) has been marketing and trading Natural Gas Liquids throughout North America. Factor owns and supplies 4 propane terminals, buys and sells LPG’s with over 125 counterparties annually, and moves via rail, truck, and pipeline approximately 25,000 Bbl/d of Propane, Butane, Natural Gasoline, olefins, and Gasoline Blendstocks to over 50 locations across North America.

Senior NGL Trader Role Summary

Factor is seeking a Senior NGL Trader who is a team player with extensive experience trading NGL’s, has strong counterparty relationships and is excited to become an integral part of Factor’s Marketing & Trading Team (“M&T”) and to position Factor for future growth. The successful candidate will be a credible and proven contributor with advanced understanding of NGL fundamentals who will assist in the development and management of key internal and external relationships for Factor, assist in the development of strategies to help drive business performance and growth, be a strong contributor to point of view development, storage planning and risk mitigation planning with clear and transparent communication and reporting to the GM M&T.

In addition, the successful candidate will develop and implement NGL trading and marketing strategies throughout North America to find new markets, increase sales volumes, maximize product margin, and expand overall EBITDA for Factor. In addition, the successful candidate will represent Factor in the marketplace as an ethical and trustworthy counterparty, develop and implement physical and financial risk mitigation strategies, in conjunction with physical book positions, to manage overall marketing book risk.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Negotiate and execute physical and financial purchase/sale agreements for NGLs and assist in other areas as needed.

Possess a comprehensive understanding of NGL ingress and egress opportunities and challenges across North America to help identify trading opportunities.

Utilize market analysis to develop a clear and consistent point of view on expected movements of prices and margins impacting profitability.

Recommend and implement risk management strategies designed to mitigate physical book risk.

Interface with various internal groups to effectively integrate marketing, finance, facilities, and logistics business units.

Develop and maintain industry marketing contacts, both on supplier and customer side. Attend various conferences throughout N. America to help grow business with new customers / in new regions.

Assist in Business Development opportunity scoping, development, and execution.

Work closely with NGL logistics and analytical resources to effectively manage the ongoing utilization of fractionation, pipe, terminal, truck and rail space obligations and opportunities, and to understand the physical flow capabilities and constraints within the portfolio.

Qualifications and Experience

University Degree, preferably B Comm/Business Administration or Bachelor of Engineering.

Strong interpersonal skills, financial/business acumen, in-depth knowledge of physical NGL markets / 7-12 years of experience in NGL related functions.

Industry NGL fundamentals knowledge and/or experience and understanding of financial derivative markets related to NGLs and crude.

High attention to detail, critical thinking/problem solving skills, and analytics skills.

Excellent professional communication skills, both written and verbal.

Works well in self-directed environment, and ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with team members to create results.

Team oriented and self-motivated.

Proven successful trader in a fast-paced environment.

Extensive NGL experience in trading heavies and butane.
