Sinn Studio Inc. is leading the charge in VR combat games! Our debut game, Swordsman, is a physics-based combat game where you can slash your way through medieval earth to become the ultimate Swordsman. Having won multiple and been nominated for awards like Game of the Year in 2022, Best Swordfighting Game in 2020 and more. Swordsman also boasts top best seller in Quest and PSVR/2 platforms. 
Sinn Studio is looking for a Senior Monetization / Economy Designer to join our team to guide players through monetization opportunities. The incumbent integrates player psychology, ensuring we have relatable, compellings products that foster enticing loops. They drive revenue growth, in an accountable and ethical manner. We are looking for someone who will enrich us with the standards you set in your practice and your collaboration, all in a space where you can thrive.
Responsibilities 
  • Spearhead the meticulous management of in-game monetization and economies, ensuring every aspect aligns seamlessly with the overarching vision of the game.
  • Implement revenue-generating mechanisms with finesse and strategic acumen, meticulously orchestrating the planning and execution of monetization events to captivate players.
  • Develop player-centric monetization approaches intricately tailored to the core essence of the game, integrating innovative features with precision and creativity.
  • Understand core gameplay to identify opportunities for further player investment.
  • Design dynamic monetization systems aligning with player psychology for enduring engagement and compelling, layered experiences.
  • Maintain flexible monetization structures for rapid iteration and desired intentions, adapting to player preferences and market trends.
  • Adeptly manage in-game data, pricing mechanisms, and resource allocation to enhance key performance indicators and player engagement.
  • Seamlessly integrate monetization initiatives across multidisciplinary teams for immersive experiences.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration within the team, leveraging collective expertise to craft and implement optimized monetization methods that resonate deeply with players.
  • Empower team members through training and mentorship on effective monetization techniques.
  • Document monetization/economy systems to reinforce understanding.
  • Conduct thorough analyses and produce insightful reports on in-game economy and monetization effectiveness.
  • Drive relentless optimization of in-game features to stimulate revenue growth, informed by robust data analysis.
  • Create and evaluate monetization/economy simulations to gauge performance and impact.
  • Continuously refine monetization strategies through rigorous A/B testing and innovation.
  • Model planned changes with precision, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Remain deeply informed about industry trends, leveraging insights to optimize monetization strategies.
  • Consistently do market analysis to discover new ways to monetize.
  • Recurrently play games and XR content for up-to-date market analysis.
  • Other related duties as required.
Qualifications

  • 5-8+ years of focused experience in Monetization Design, Economy Design, or Product Management.
  • Direct exposure to game-as-a-service models and player psychology.
  • Familiarity with gaming advertising platforms.
  • Skilled in designing comprehensive game monetization aspects from scratch (systems may have varying complexity).
  • Proficient in numerical planning from pre-production to launch to live operations.
  • Demonstrates strong execution and being results-driven; fostering creative thinking, problem solving and multitasking capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive and ethical approach
  • Strong analytical skills, translating player experience and insights into quantitative models.
  • Adept at dissecting complex systems to uncover key relationships and drivers of outcomes.
  • Skilled in modeling intricate systems and forecasting player behaviors.
  • Capable of modeling and simulating planned changes, foreseeing downstream effects to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet, database, and analytics tools, employing a data-driven approach.
  • Deep understanding of XR business model and game design principles.
  • Excellent grasp of the F2P business model and its constraints.
  • A team player fostering strong collaboration.
  • Mentorship and facilitation skills to support iterative processes.
  • Effective ability to share findings with key stakeholders. (ie. written/presentation, etc)
  • A dynamic marketing and sales mindset that is curious, actionable and autonomous.
  • Comfortable being in a virtual environment for varying times wearing a VR headset.
Added Advantages:
  • Experience with VR / MR. 
  • PC and console experience preferred over mobile.
  • Understanding blockchain, crypto and NFTs (including possibilities and pitfalls).
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Economics, Computer Science, other related fields or relevant experience.
  • An authentic understanding and passion about games / working in the industry.
Additional Information
Internal Titling: The internal job title for this role may only include either Economy or Monetization in it.
Salary Range: $95,000 -110,000 CAD annually + 3 weeks vacation, sick days, employer paid benefits (except LTD), Employee Assistance Program, wellness days, birthday day off, a Group Retirement Savings Plan (GRSP), Employee Stock Options (ESOP) [coming in 2024], and more.
As of the time of this posting, Sinn Studio lists the projected base salary range in good faith. A salary offered will be determined upon several factors such as: relevant experience, skillset, geographic location, and organizational critical needs.
Office Location: Liberty Village, Toronto
Work Structure: Preference will be given to local candidates or those who are willing to relocate to the Greater Toronto Area to work in a hybrid model with two days in office collaborating with local team members and our founders.
