Premier M&E Consulting Engineering firm seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer / Designer in Kitchener. $90K - $125KYour new companyOur client is an established industry leader in M&E consulting engineering services for commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, and high-rise residential building projects. They have a deep history of successfully delivering high quality design for a variety of small and large-scale projects, while maintaining excellent relationships within the industry. Their growing office in Kitchener, ON is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer / Designer to join their growing team.Your new roleAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer / Designer, your responsibilities will include the following:Managing and leading the design of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection components relevant to building projects of various sizes and complexities, while adhering to applicable codes and standardsDirecting junior staff on design strategies/concepts.Evaluating engineering design requirements, as well as overseeing the creation of design drawingsCoordinating with other disciplinesPerforming engineering activities such as calculations, code research, material and building systems research, laying out components, and calculation of program and building areasCommunicating with clients, contractors and sales reps.Performing site surveys and field reviews to accurately document existing and new construction conditionsPreparing project documentation and engineering specificationsOverseeing construction administration (shop drawings, RFIs, CCNs, monthly draws, etc).Reviewing project products, services and shop drawings to ensure adherence to project documents, relevant codes and corporate quality standardsAssisting with and working on business development through client acquisition, fee estimates, RFP response preparation and issuing of fee proposal lettersParticipating in interviews/presentations as requiredPursuit of new clients and opportunities and maintenance of existing clientsWhat you'll need to succeedThe ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualities and qualifications:6-10+ years of experience in the design / engineering of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems relevant to commercial, industrial, residential, institutional, or healthcare building projectsUniversity degree in Mechanical Engineering or a College diploma such as Mechanical Engineering TechnologyP.Eng designation would be an asset, but is not requiredExperience developing drawings in AutoCAD and/or RevitHigh level of initiative with a pro-active approach to work assignments and opportunitiesAbility to multi-task and be organized, especially under the stress of deadlinesDesire to work within a team environmentExcellent written and oral communication skills in English; French would be an assetWhat you'll get in returnA very competitive compensation and benefits package is on offer, as well as the opportunity to join a large, established organization with a deep history of investing in their employee’s learning and professional development.
