Position Overview Reporting to the Director, Product Development, the Senior Manager, Product Development will identify, access and lead the activities for the Residential Lending Team to develop a dynamic process to quickly leverage new and profitable product opportunities. The incumbent will lead an end-to-end lifecycle that will evaluate, develop and launch new products, as well as assess existing product portfolios to ensure they are competitive in Home’s chosen markets.The successful candidate will analyze and monitor the business, develop innovative plans, work with internal and external stakeholders, implement programs and communicate results.Position ResponsibilitiesPrimary responsibility is to identify, assess and launch new products to improve Home’s competitiveness and drive profitable growth.Define and document a product development process that enables Home Trust to efficiently bring compelling products to market, as well as evaluate existing products to ensure maximum performance.Lending: Be the key Subject Matter Expert on Home’s lending products. Develop business cases for new product launches, or for product refinements to maintain/improve competitiveness. Non-lending: Identify relevant non-lending products to introduce as companion products to Home’s secured lending business. Develop business cases for new product launches, or for product refinements to maintain/improve competitivenessConduct ongoing competitor intelligence and provide analysis against Home’s product offerings.Develop relationship management rigor with the mortgage insurers to ensure strong working relationship and access to default insurance.Assist in the develop of new mortgage lending products in response to fact-based consumer demands and market trends. Work collaboratively throughout the organization to design, evaluate, establish business requirements and develop marketing approach for product launch (incl. Sales, Underwriting, Operations, Credit, Compliance, IT, Treasury and Control groups).Facilitate discussions and requirements gathering with management and senior executives on the development of new product parameters, and work with Finance to establish business case.Establish a process to evaluate the existing product portfolios, and thereby make recommendations to refine or change products to maintain competitiveness in the market. Evolve the analysis to identify strategies that could apply to existing mortgagors to assist with loyalty and retention.Develop innovative opportunities to enhance Home’s competitiveness in the homeownership market. Establish business cases for ancillary products or programs that will enhance Home’s core mortgage lending business.Related Experience5- 7 years relevant work experience within a regulated Canadian Financial Institution holding progressively senior roles in Product development, Strategy, Treasury and/or Operational EffectivenessExperience in Cognos, Access, Excel, PowerPoint or use of SQL, SAP, SAS an assetExperience writing requirements and working with IT an assetSolid understanding of product development lifecycleSolution-focused and takes initiative to work effectively and efficiently Strong organizational, time management, research/ analysis skills and attention to detailStrong interpersonal relationship building, negotiating and listening skillsProven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environmentAbility to present to the organization’s senior management/executivesAble to flourish in a fast paced, deadline-driven work environmentMust be self-motivated, energetic and results-oriented and be committed to adding value to the organizationParticipate fully as a team member, work effectively with teammates and contribute to a positive work environmentConsistently demonstrates and reinforces organizational valuesAcknowledgement All employees of Home Trust Company must comply with all applicable Home Trust Company, and specific Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines and controls.
