Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Financial Services, the Senior Manager, Procurement and Supply Services is responsible for the procurement of goods and services; inventory control; distribution of supplies, material and equipment and services utilized by various operating departments of the City; and the disposal of surplus materials and equipment. This position oversees a team that is focused on procurement strategies and frameworks contributing to many City projects. The Senior Manager contributes to the strategic management and delivery of the Financial Services division and works collaboratively across the corporation.

The successful candidate holds a University degree in in Business Administration, Commerce, Purchasing, and/or Supply Chain Management (Material Management) or Logistics or a related discipline, and has a minimum of seven to ten years of progressive public sector experience in a senior level purchasing and materials management environment with at least two years within the municipal, academic, health care or other public service unionized entity. You must possess at least one of the following accreditations: Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO) from the National Institute of Government Purchasing or Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) from Supply Chain Canada. You will be a strong leader, focused on empowering teams to support and improve the procurement function within the City.
