This role provides leadership to ensure the team achieves the long-term warehousing strategy, while closely collaborating with other Supply Chain departments and internal stakeholders.The attributes we are looking for:Provide leadership to improve health and safety outcomes by leading by example and exercising due diligence in the application of elements of the companys health and safety program. Prioritize incident prevention through hazard identification, the implementation of necessary controls, training, education, and audits. If necessary, take corrective measures to remedy employee behaviors and unsafe situations, enforce Lactalis cardinal rules and other safety rules and procedures, and communicate with the appropriate people to resolve any dangerous situation or unsafe conduct of employees.Manage and review the operating budget (OPEX) under their responsibility by developing and maintaining an annual budget, reviewing/approving expenses, and explaining all variance to plan.Manage the Capital expenditure plan (CAPEX) of the warehouse by developing and maintaining an annual budget, reviewing/approving expenses.Implement, maintain, review, and automate key performance metrics (KPI) that demonstrate operational efficiency and effectiveness.Lead and manage staff by hiring employees, evaluating their performance, providing feedback, identifying training and development needs, and providing them with the necessary coaching, motivation, and guidance.Manage the operations of Lactalis and 3rd party warehouses by ensuring that KPI’s are met. Meet short and long-term storage needs (including 3PL contracts, service levels & costs) by liaising with 3PL providers to determine options and costs, conducting research and developing alternatives to reduce current storage costs and ensuring future storage volumes are accommodated, creating and presenting business cases for recommended alternatives.Ensure that all warehouse policies, procedures, and activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.Participate in collective agreement negotiations as a member of the management team during union-company contract negotiations by representing warehousing interests during bargaining sessions; develop and propose contract changes that will benefit (cost/flexibility/efficiency) the company and specifically warehouse operations.Develop and implement initiatives to reduce overall operating costs, maintain cold chain compliance, optimize service.Manage customer returns and claims from a Warehouse perspective.
