The POLARIS II Development Team continues to grow and looking for a Developer who will be responsible for thesupport, maintenance, enhancements and development of the POLARIS II application suite of programs and databases. What You’ll Be Doing Responsible for the support, maintenance and modifications of the POLARIS II application suite of programs and databases.Trouble-shoot software problems and identify/implement solutions.Responsible to analyze, design, develop changes, fixes and prepare detailed technical specifications and project plans in accordance with Teranet’s standard for POLARIS II related systems on an individual basis.Leads systems development, programming and implementation activities and undertake major developments as a member and/or a leader of a project team.Recommends revisions, enhancement to the workflow, procedures and policy related to POLARIS II system.Defines unit, system, parallel, stress and acceptance testing criteria for POLARIS II system releases and ensures that appropriate test data is created.Participate in integration and regression testing.Prepare technical documentation.Responds to requests for assistance from the LOB and Customer Service.Provide production support as required.Promote and abide by Teranet’s system development methodology.Maintain a current knowledge in Teranet’s suite of system development tools.Implement security policies as set out by Teranet's Security Officer.Assists the Manager in various administrative and planning tasks.Mentor junior staff.Other related duties as directed.About You Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline8+ years hands-on experience in analyzing user requirements, systems analysis, systems design and programming.Experience inmulti-tier web application development.Mission-critical on-line systemdevelopment or maintenance experience.Extensive (8+ years) hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, HTML, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, JQuery, Ajax, JSP, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, JBoss, AMQ, iText7, Ant, Maven, JenkinsPipeline, EclipseLink, TopLink, LDAP, Oracle RDBMS andSQL,Jira, Git, Gerrit.Excellent command on concepts, practices and procedures of systems and implementation development life cycleStrong knowledge of Object Oriented Design and Programming (familiarity with Rational Rose and RUP is an asset)Strong knowledge ofRelational Database Design and Object-Relational Database MappingAbility to develop & maintainSQL scripts and Shell scripts in UNIX environment.Extensive knowledge ofUNIX environment.Extensive knowledge of Responsive Design and Accessibility (WCAG)Strong ability to work well under pressure, manage conflicting priorities and have strong problem-solving skills.Strong ability to work independently and provide appropriate status and updates to management.Strong ability to deal professionally with internal and external clientsStrong ability to translate business requirements into technical requirementsStrong ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical persons.Strong organization, administrative and project management skills.Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.Must be a good team player with positive attitude.Coaching capabilities with respect to teaching and mentoring more junior staff members.Self-starter with the ability to learn quickly, has good problem-solving skills and can meet tight deadlinesIn accordance with legal agreements with the Ministry of Government Services, employee must pass security and credit checks.Knowledge of Teranet system support would be an assetKnowledge of the Ontario Land Registry System would be an assetDevelopment Environment and Tools: Hibernate, JPA, JDBC, SOA, JAX-WS, JAXB Bindings, REST, SOAP, EJB 3.0, JMS, JMX, XSLT, JSON, CSS, XML, Angular/GWT, HTML5, PKI/RSA, API Gateway/ESB, Oauth, Micro service, Red Hat OpenShift, ELK, DevOps, WAF, AODA, Debugging tools, application servers (IBM Websphere or JBoss), Apache, Linux, scripting tools and languages, MS SQL Server, Eclipse, Junit testing, GIT, Jira, UML, Knowledge of modeling tools.
