POSITION TITLE: Senior Human Resources Generalist (On-Site)
LOCATION: Owen Sound, ON
MacLean Engineering & Marketing Co. Limited is currently recruiting for a Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our team at our Owen Sound, Ontario facility. About the Position: The Senior Human Resources Generalist is an HR professional who is an enthusiastic and service oriented individual responsible for providing Human Resources support and services to the location they work at. This includes people and culture, employee relations, policy and legislation knowledge, all aspects of administrative tasks, as well as manage and participate in the recruiting and new hire processes. This position will involve and requires proficiency in the following competencies:
- Handle sensitive human resources issues with confidentiality, professionalism and an applicable knowledge of legislation, bringing issues to resolution.
- Act as an advisor and resources person by providing advice on Human Resources related matters, legislation and policy interpretation
- Work closely with the Regional Human Resources Managers and HR team at other branches in developing and assisting with policies and other projects
- Advise and support employees in day-to-day matters, provide guidance and coaching with respect to company policies
- Work with regional HR Managers to conduct employee relations investigations and determine appropriate action to be taken
- Participate in progressive disciplinary action and Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) in accordance with established procedures
- Manage and organize administrative activities (i.e. employee file maintenance, utilize HRIS system, prepare reports, etc.)
- Full cycle recruitment (i.e. attracting, job fairs, prepare and post job postings, interview, reference checks, prepare job offers, onboarding, and offboarding)
- Support the Annual Performance Review process
- Work closely with Payroll as necessary
- Liaise with Health and Safety team on health and safety related matters as required
