Job Description

S.i Systems client is looking for a Senior Healthcare Management Consultant to develop and communicate a high-level vision, strategy and roadmap for the BC Health Authorities to support the organizations’ long term strategic objectives- SOWRS/ July 2nd- 1  The project is seeking someone that will focus on the current and future state operational needs over technological solutions. While a technical understanding and context is required, the focus of this project is the development of a strategic plan, not technical solution identification.  5 month contract to start with chances of extension. Mostly remote, occasional travel to onsite meetings. Must Haves: Demonstrated development and delivery of healthcare strategies that support operational and care service delivery Experience facilitating and managing strategic consultation processes with a wide range o f stakeholder groups , including Senior Management teams and Executives across different organizations Experience developing communication strategies and roadmaps Education, training and experience equivalent to a degree in Project Management, Health Administration, Business Administration, Information Management or a related discipline Nice to haves: BC Health Authority experience Responsibilities: In the development of the strategy and roadmap, the Strategist will engage stakeholders to set a formal approach for communication scenarios and the technology and practices that support: · Best practice for both clinical and business operations · Privacy and security of user / patient information · Optimal end user experience · Fiscal responsibility The Strategist will utilize a strong understanding of the healthcare environment and work closely with Informatics, PDHIS, and other key stakeholders to enable the following key deliverables: 1. A current state inventory of technology-supported scenarios, practices, guidelines, and platforms · Identify broad, high-level operational workplace scenarios and workflows that utilize supporting technology, including those that are and are not endorsed by the health organizations (HO) · Identify any existing practices and guidelines that support the workplace scenarios and workflows, including HO Standard Operating Procedures, PDHIS Policies and Guidelines, Privacy and Security Policies and Guidelines, Provider Contractual Agreements · Conduct an environmental scan to identify strategies and approaches used by peer organizations (provincially, nationally, internationally) 2. Defined clinical and business communications priorities, objectives and approach Identify current and upcoming initiatives that align with or are dependent upon this strategy. This includes initiatives for: Solutions supporting communications that are currently failing Upgrades to communications solutions that are currently in progress (i.e. voice services) Upcoming or in-progress projects with a communications requirement or dependency (i.e. pager retirement) Identify long-term priorities and principles Identify immediate needs for the short-term and align with the long-term priorities where possible (tactical plans to support immediate needs) Identify personas to address different user types requiring consideration in the development of the strategy 3. A high-level roadmap to inform and enable development of a future state architecture, platforms and toolsets The roadmap will identify tracks of work or communication scenarios, with agreed-upon deliverables for each track: Destination: Objectives/key principles for desired future state Route: How we are getting to the destination (validation of existing approach or further development required) Urgent Pit-Stops: Any immediate projects/initiatives required (i.e. risk mitigation) 4.
