Job Description

About AdHawkAdHawk Microsystems develops eye-tracking technology that helps unlock the connection between the eyes, the brain and the world around us. We produce custom silicon microsystems at the wafer-scale to enable the proliferation of eye tracking in consumer electronics products. Our team has re-imagined the architecture of conventional eye-tracking systems to achieve the performance that is required for mobile, medical, and AR/VR applications. With order-of-magnitude improvements in sampling rate, latency, and power consumption, we can capture subtle changes in eye movement dynamics, enabling effortless control of wearable devices, while revealing the interests, emotional state, and health of a person. We are a fully funded startup with an experienced management team that believes in the ability of candidates to make a significant contribution to the future of human-computer interaction (HCI). We believe in a flexible work environment with an emphasis on results and outcomes–not hours. Our team consists of researchers and engineers of the highest caliber with a deep sense of curiosity and a passion for the technology we develop. We publish award-winning research papers, fabricate custom silicon chips at leading foundries, and push the boundaries of physics and manufacturing to develop products that create compelling value for our customers.Successful candidates will gain hands-on familiarity with several new HCI peripherals built around a groundbreaking MEMS electro-optical sensor platform. You will be one of the first people to have an opportunity to redefine the way VR/AR technology is used. You will also have a chance to develop new paradigms in gestural input technology on tomorrow’s wearable devices. Our range of customers and collaborators includes renowned international corporations and research institutes from around the world._____________________________________________________Position SummaryIn this role you will lead electrical and mechanical projects relating to the eye tracking hardware developed by AdHawk. You may develop MEMS drive electronics and optical sensing circuits at the discrete level and collaborate on the design of ASICs, and you'll be able to submit MPW/shuttle runs to top-tier CMOS foundries for fabrication of test circuits and devices providing opportunities for circuit tapeout and validation.  We have access to ample resources for assembly and test allowing our engineers to quickly iterate on designs. You'll have the unique opportunity to work with a variety of hardware systems including flex, rigid-flex, HDI, VCSELs, and optics all under one roof. You are a curious and driven person that loves to solve problems and develop new and innovative technology. You are capable of working independently, meeting tight deadlines with changing priorities, and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Candidate RequirementsUndergraduate Engineering with 5+ years circuit design experienceJob ResponsibilitiesContribute innovative and original ideas to the technology, algorithms, and products from ideation to implementationManage projects ranging from R&D and testing to custom solutions for customers Work with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements and use cases, then translate into hardware to advance performance metrics: power, speed, accuracy, reliability, yield, and costDevelop integration techniques for tracker hardware in various form factorsProduce fully functional and robust prototypes for novel 3D sensing applications such as depth mapping, gesture recognition, ranging etc.Provide project leadership and mentorship to team membersRequired SkillsCircuit design experience in an analog/mixed-signal environment at the board, chip, and system levelElectro-optical sensing of low-level signals in a power constrained environmentAnalog signal conditioning and filtering, and Digital designExperience with SPICE simulation and PCB schematic entry and layout using preferably Altium DesignerDesign and testing of precision analog circuitsRapid prototyping & debugging: soldering, harnessing, and/or fixturingStrong technical writing expertise for production of datasheets, application guides, customer correspondence, etc.Familiar with low power MCU (ST, nRF, TI etc.) and its peripheral circuits (MIPI, SPI, timers, etc.)Familiar with wireless protocols (Bluetooth, Wifi) and certificationsBasic programming: C, Python, or equivalentGood Skills to HaveWorked with MEMS based sensorsHigh volume consumer product development experienceHigh density PCB designFlex PCB design
