Job Description
We are a third-generation family business consisting of a group of companies operating in the real estate investment and development sectors; Advisors Realty / Brokerage, Storwell Self Storage, Bid13.com Online Storage Auctions, Hurontario Corporate Centre, DBNC Group, and our upcoming development Rook Hotel.
We are seeking an experienced graphic designer who specializes in UI-centric web design for web and mobile devices. You will be collaborating with the web and marketing team to maintain the company’s multiple large website applications, as well as be responsible for creating some print and marketing material as needed, although print design will not be your main focus. You will be expected to provide an extensive, original, modern web and mobile portfolio, and possess a thorough understanding of UI and SEO best-practices, as well as experience maintaining and following branding guidelines. You will be required take written ideas, spoken ideas, or existing design templates, and expand upon these directives-- resulting in clean, polished, consistent and functional design. The successful candidate is a quick, efficient, self-motivated individual who will have a keen eye for clean and modern design, demonstrate a thorough understanding of search engine optimized design, and possess proficiency in current UI and UX design best practices and the fundamentals of information architecture.

Objectives of this role
· Maintain and update multiple large existing web entities under the management of the technical and marketing teams
· Obtain input from managers to ensure that designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the company or client appropriately
· Work independently as well as cooperatively with the technical and marketing teams to meet deadlines and schedule project implementation based on workload, which may include five or more simultaneous projects
· Examine existing processes, identify flaws, and create solutions that improve the ranking and functionality of our web projects
· Update and maintain external databases for designs, photography, and video
Responsibilities
· Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with the technical and marketing team on a wide range of materials that may include web pages, mobile applications, signage, and marketing materials
· Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within multiple established brand identities
Required skills and qualifications
· Extensive knowledge of mobile-first design best practices, Google-compliant SEO-centric web design, and complex application design and maintenance.
· Five or more years of professional experience with design software, including Adobe XD, Adobe Illustrator. If you primarily use templates to generate your web and mobile designs, do not apply for this position.
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability to receive criticism and direction and revise work accordingly
· Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
· Desire to continue building skill set with education and training
· Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with regards to technical design
Preferred skills and qualifications
· Photography experience and proficiency with photo-editing software are an asset
· Strong language and communication skills

· A detailed portfolio of work demonstrating proficiency in web / mobile / UI design, with strong examples of interface design. Wireframing experience would be an asset.
· Portfolios that are print-design or illustration-centric will not be considered for this role and will be automatically rejected.
· Applicants without relevant experience in web and mobile design will be rejected.

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
