Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Geoscientist
Location: Mississauga, Ontario
Salary: $120,000 - $150,000
Work Schedule: 4 Day Week
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer or Geoscientist to join our Environmental Team. The ideal candidate will have 10 to 15 years of experience in the field and hold a P.Geo (Ontario) or P.Eng (Ontario) designation. The primary focus of this role will be on corporate and private sector projects in Geotechnical Engineering, with opportunities to expand into municipal and government contracts as we grow this service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure development projects from conception to completion.
- Provide technical expertise and approvals for geotechnical aspects of projects.
- Develop and establish an in-house Geotechnical lab to meet project requirements.
- Train junior staff in fieldwork techniques and report preparation.
- Support business development efforts by attending meetings, industry events, and presenting to potential or existing clients.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 10 to 15 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering or Geoscience.
- P.Geo (Ontario) or P.Eng (Ontario) designation.
- Strong technical knowledge and skills in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Experience in managing projects across various sectors.
- Ability to train and mentor junior staff.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in new business development (preferred but not mandatory).
- Familiarity with companies in the environmental consulting or Geotechnical engineering space.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
