Job Description

The Senior Fundraising Officer is responsible for leading the implementation of Project Ploughshares’ fundraising program. The Senior Fundraising Officer will oversee day-to-day fundraising functions, including running the organization’s major donor, direct mailing, and planned giving programs, as well as building and maintaining a support base to advance the mission of the organization. The Senior Fundraising Officer reports to the Director of Operations. Salary Range: $71,069 – $87,406 Closing On: July 24, 2023 Location:Waterloo, Ontario (on-site or hybrid (on-site/online)) Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent Preferred Start Date: July or August 2023 Starting Salary: Based on experience Salary Range:$71,069 – $87,406 Level: Senior Benefits:Pension, group benefits, and paid time off Contribute to developing a fundraising strategy. Establish, manage, and run the annual giving program. Cultivate major donors and secure planned gifts. Develop and implement strategies to identify, engage, and acquire new donors. Expand and grow the direct mail, monthly, and online giving program. Oversee the management of the donor database. Qualifications : Post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and expertise. CFRE designation a definite asset. Significant fundraising experience with five years or more of progressively responsible experience, preferably in the charitable sector. Experience in major gift fundraising. Ability to think strategically and deliver results. Interest in peace and security issues. Demonstrated ability to form positive, collaborative working relationships with staff and supporting constituencies. Good computer skills in the Windows environment and experience with fundraising systems and software (Raiser’s Edge). Excellent organizational, interpersonal, planning, and analytical skills. Ability to consistently demonstrate high personal ethical standards, sound judgement, confidentiality, and discretion. Superior written and verbal communication skills. Results-oriented and a creative thinker. Experience with event organization. Fundraising experience, knowledge, and connections in the Waterloo Region a definite asset. Comfortable working with ecumenical networks and faith communities. Understanding of Imagine Canada’s Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code, CRA guidelines, and Charitable Tax Law.
