We are seeking a Senior Fintech Analyst to join our Financial Services team. This role is available to candidates in either Calgary, Vancouver or Toronto. Who you are:

As we expand at an increasingly fast pace, both domestically and internationally, we seek a highly skilled, ambitious, and energetic individual to strategy, growth, and operational initiatives for our Financial Services organization. Synthesize business insights to help quantify, frame and evaluate tradeoffs to deviations from operational targets and prepare executive level presentations in support of key business reviews. Identify hotspots in the business that require intervention and proactively investigate, strategize, and implement solutions with the respective business leaders. Lead research on payments growth opportunities through market sizing, assessing the competitive landscape, collaborating on GTM strategy & differentiation and modeling the financials. Support GTM Payments strategy by building short-term and long-term strategic plans and supporting payment operations & analytics to assess and manage performance. Facilitate the synthesis of cross-functional research & analysis, summarize strategic insights to develop business cases and implementation plans. Provide general analytical support for payments leadership team and strategic payments decisions across the Company. Adding, maintaining, and adjusting risk and fraud rules based on performance statistics across all platforms. Providing performance metrics for Payment Operations team, across fraud and risk, chargeback, and support data. Conducting investigations on suspicious activity internally, and in collaboration with the Application Security team, including preparing investigative reports with findings and recommendations gathered from analysis. Using technology-based fraud monitoring/detection tools and reports to monitor/analyze account activity for potential fraud and illegal activity. Identifying and recommending new technology and/or new processes to detect and prevent fraud. What you bring:

4-6 years work experience in a relevant field (e.g. strategy & operations, product/GTM strategy, management consulting, investment banking) Experience with market sizing, competitive landscaping and financial modeling Strong focus on strategic thinking and analytical problem solving Strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communicator Self-motivated, independent, and deadline-oriented Understanding for how to measure and evaluate performance across all business functions Strong ability to query, analyze, and synthesize insights using a variety of datasets Intermediate to expert knowledge in developing complex data query languages, specifically SQL queries (Stripe Radar, Looker) Beginner to intermediate knowledge in practically leveraging Python to automate tasks and execute data analysis Comprehension of deploying the end result of analysis into a visualization solution (Looker) Serious bonus points if you have:

The expected salary range* for this role is $85,000 to $115,100 CAD. Please note there are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.

*Our salary bands are designed to reflect the range of skills and experience needed for the position and to allow room for growth at Clio. For experienced individuals, we typically hire at or around the midpoint of the band. The top portion of the salary band is reserved for employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. Those who are new to the role may join below the midpoint and develop their skills over time. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
