The Finance Business Partner team supporting the Chief Technology Office (CTO) is an engaged team with a big mandate. As trusted partners to the CTO team, our Finance Planning & Analysis Finance team helps solve complex business challenges and help achieve operational and strategic goals. Our team is looking for YOU - some just motivated about people as they are about financial analysis! You will be a fundamental contributor to directly supporting a VP team. You will translate financial data into value-added reporting and high-level stories that ultimately help drive decision-making. Using your fresh eyes and creative approach, you will help to simplify and improve our processes. If you are a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves storytelling and the big picture, and excels at building relationships, this is the role for you!

Here's how
  • Act as a Finance prime for the assigned VP team with the support of a controller
  • Lead the analysis and reporting of monthly, quarterly, yearly financial and performance metrics including variance analysis, which get to the reasons for the results; with the goal of enhancing business understanding and decision-making
  • Maintain SAP hierarchy and organizational changes and manage the budget transfer process
  • Complete ad hoc investigations, analysis and reporting as required
  • Identify, develop and implement process improvements through simplification and automation, to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness
Requirements and Qualifications
  • CPA with 3-5 years of post-designation experience in a similar role
  • Strong technical skills and experience with accounting process, internal controls, risk assessments and IFRS
  • Critical thinking skills for business planning and problem analysis and resolution
  • Strong decision-making based on best practice, financial and economic analysis
  • Regarded as an exceptional communicator, influencer and negotiator, able to build and maintain effective partnerships internally and externally with all stakeholders, including senior leaders
  • Excellent time management, organization, project management skills to oversee the portfolio in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficient with Excel and G-suite apps (Sheets, Slides, Sites and Looker)
Great-to-haves
  • Hyperion, BW and SAP S4 Hana experience
  • Automation experience with VBA macros, Python or other programming languages
  • Experience with Google Looker, Domo, Tableau or PowerBI

Salary Range: $86,000-$130,000

Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits, which may vary per job function, such as:
