THEROLE IN A NUTSHELL

The Senior Financial Analyst –Operational Performance reports to the Manager, Operational Performance withinStrategy Operations team. This role, Senior Financial Analyst – OperationalPerformance will be instrumental in enhancing operational efficiency acrossthe enterprise through strategic management of enterprise-wide expenses. Theywill ensure accurate and timely performance reporting and measurement of annualoperating planning on administrative expenses throughout the organization. As areliable business partner, this role provides visibility into budgetperformance and tracks progress against the annual operating plan across theorganizational landscape.

  • Leadwith the Manager Operational performance, the strategic integration ofannual budgeting processes for admin expenses, ensuring alignment withcorporate strategy and business Plans to optimize cost structures acrossthe enterprise.
  • Serveas the business partner liaison for corporate functions, providing crucialperformance analysis support.
  • Collaborateclosely with FP&A to optimize planning and achieve the targetoperating margin.
  • Offeranalysis on monthly plan variances, identifying areas for improvement andcost management initiatives in collaboration with business planning andProcurement.
  • Collaboratewith Controllers across the various lines of business to understand costdrivers and partner with procurement team to mitigate cost pressures andpinpoint opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Collaboratewith stakeholders across departments to facilitate optimal resourceallocation throughout the enterprise.
  • Createcomprehensive reports and presentations for senior management, enablingwell-informed decision-making regarding performance related to the adminexpense operating plan.
  • Contributeto month-end deliverables and corporate initiatives within the Finance andStrategy team.
  • Supportbusiness case development, return on equity (ROE) calculations, and mentorjunior team members.
  • Engagewith stakeholders to identify and resolve operational inefficiencies,spearheading continuous improvement efforts for streamlined businessprocesses and enhanced performance.
  • Workclosely with cross-functional finance teams to continuously assessemerging technologies and best practices to inform future financetransformation efforts.
  • Assistin enterprise-wide finance transformation initiatives, including currentstate analysis, system evaluation, system selection, and systemmigration/Implementation.
  • Undertakeadditional responsibilities as needed to support organizationalobjectives.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and synthesizecomplex and unstructured data accurately and concisely.
  • The ability to analyze complex situations, model different scenariosand understand corporate strategy and business plans with the goal ofaligning them with the annual operating plan.
  • Proficiency in budgeting and forecasting, conducting thoroughvariance analysis, and delivering comprehensive reports to seniorleadership.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across different departments andfunctions.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools, with a keeninterest in leveraging leading technology to streamline processes.
  • Experience with project management and process improvementinitiatives.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and cost managementprinciples.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with competingdeadlines.
  • Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, businessadministration, or a related field
  • CPA Preferred but not required.

  • Insurance/group benefits experience.
  • Experience in a regulatedenvironment.
  • Experience and knowledge of IFRS.
  • Bilingualism (English/French).
