Job Description
Our client, a leading construction firm in the North York region, is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their team. The Senior Estimator will be responsible for providing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, as well as mentoring and guiding junior estimators. This is a key role in the organization, contributing to the successful procurement of projects.
Yearly Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000
Responsibilities:
- Lead the estimating process, including analysis of construction plans and specifications.
- Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes.
- Prepare detailed and competitive bid proposals.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators.
- Maintain a database of pricing information and cost data.
- Support the project management team during the pre-construction phase.
- Analyze historical project data to refine and improve estimating accuracy.
- Review and evaluate project scope and requirements.
- Participate in value engineering and cost analysis efforts.
- Stay updated on market trends and changes in construction costs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7years of experience in construction estimating, with a strong focus on senior-level responsibilities.
- Proficiency in advanced estimating software and tools.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
- Time management and organization skills to meet deadlines.
- Proven leadership and mentorship abilities.
- Detail-oriented and committed to producing high-quality estimates.
- A track record of successfully securing and managing projects.
