We are currently seeking a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Vancouver office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC and other aspects of mechanical engineering for buildings. They should demonstrate expertise in buildings decarbonization or deep retrofit projects, high energy efficiency projects and strong abilities in cultivating relationships with clients. The candidate should be driven to develop innovative solutions to engineering challenges as well as accompanying the clients through the design process for an array of different building types in institutional, commercial and municipal infrastructure.

While working from the Vancouver office, you will be able to work in a hybrid mode

Primary Responsibilities

  • Liaise directly with clients and maintain business relationships including business development.
  • Prepare or supervise the design of buildings including commercial, residential, and institutional projects
  • Work with the project team from conceptual and preliminary stages of design through to completion
  • Ensure compliance to the quality assurance and control program

Qualifications

  • A recognized mechanical engineering degree and a P. Eng. designation
  • 10+ years of directly related experience in mechanical buildings engineering including HVAC, plumbing and building services
  • Self-motivation and strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Demonstrate a commitment to client service
  • Knowledge of Canadian codes and standards
  • Knowledge of commercial building automation systems and DDC controls systems
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit and commercial HVAC load calculation software

The expected salary for this position is from $105,440 to $131,800 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
