Senior Electrical Engineer / Project Manager - BuildingsAn excellently managed multidisciplinary consulting firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer. Multiple locations. $130K - $150KYour new companyOur client is an established industry leading integrated design firm focused on commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, and high-rise residential building projects. They have a deep history of successfully delivering high quality design services for a variety complex engineering and architecture projects, while maintaining excellent relationships within the industry. They are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer / Project Manager to join any of their offices in Toronto, Hamilton, Kitchener, or Calgary.Your new roleAs a Senior Electrical Engineer / Project Manager, your responsibilities will include the following:electrical design on projectsand communicate with clients on scope and development of projectconcepts, schematic and developed designs for electrical project scope including lighting, power and systemselectrical service and distribution systems calculations and equipment selection, including demand loading, fault current assessment, protective device coordination and ESA review package documentationlighting design (indoor and outdoor) including fixture, lamp, ballast selection and lighting calculations to IES standardselectrical systems design for building code compliance including life safety (fire alarm, emergency/exit lighting) and resource conservation (lighting selection, lighting controls, mechanical equipment services)the preparation of drawing documentation and prepare specifications to supplement drawings in project bid packageswith authorities and service providers (i.e. ESA, Hydro, Bell etc)technical analysis and preparation of reportsdetailed electrical capital cost estimatessite surveys and site assessments, field reviews and address coordination questions throughout constructionwith equipment suppliers, contractors, and other design disciplinestechnical direction for the electrical practicemaintain, and oversee electrical technical standards and processesquality assurance for electrical scope on various projectsWhat you'll need to succeedThe ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualities and qualifications:8-10+ years of experience in the design of Power Distribution, Lighting, and Fire Alarm systems relevant to industrial and / or healthcare building projectsUniversity degree in Electrical Engineering or a College diploma such as Electrical Engineering TechnologyExperience developing drawings in AutoCAD and/or RevitHigh level of initiative with a pro-active approach to work assignments and opportunitiesAbility to multi-task and be organized, especially under the stress of deadlinesDesire to work within a team environmentExcellent written and oral communication skills in English; French would be an assetP.Eng designation in Ontario or AlbertaWhat you'll get in returnA very competitive compensation and benefits package is on offer, as well as the opportunity to join a large, established organization with a deep history of investing in their employee’s learning and professional development.
