Job Description

Job Function:The Electrical Engineer will assist in the development of new products and will support Operations in the deployment of products and the build out of associated, complete systems. This position is critical to our department in ensuring a smooth transition into manufacturing with follow-on support during product deployment, in-field commissioning, and on-going service.Responsibilities:Hands-on engineering to develop, implement and service all electrical aspects of product development, product delivery and service, including: -Developing specification, designs, drawings, test procedure and SOPs, as well as work instructions, operating manuals and maintenance manuals. -Participating in risk analysis and mitigation plan study. -Supporting the build of test equipment and products. -Supporting field installation, commissioning, maintenance. -Providing technical assistance to business and product development teams.Provide innovative solutions for electrical and controls component breakdowns.Ensure project’s milestones are met on time.Assist the development team in establishing testing capabilities.Participate in product deliveries.Support service and maintenance contracts within our facility and at our customers’ facilities.Work with the other engineering disciplines within the company and clients to ensure coordinated designs.Work with the operations team to ensure adherence to the QMS.Proactively pursue strong, positive relationships with all company staff. Promote an atmosphere exuding confidence, excitement and enthusiasm.Preferred Experience/Qualifications:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineeringRegistered as a professional engineer in Ontario.At least 8 years hands-on experience working with LV/ MV electrical system design, installation, commissioning and service in Hydrogen and/or natural gas and/ or chemical industry.Minimum 3 years Industrial control system designing, HMI / SCADA design, installation and commissioning experience is an asset.Experience with electrical and control panels certifications in an OEM environment.Experience in performing engineering design, studies and analyses such as: LV/ MV switch gear, MCC, short circuit, ground grid and bonding design, arc-flash studies and mitigation studies, protective device coordination, etc.Working experience with high power rectifier, power electronics.Preparing technical specifications and testing procedure for high power rectifier, medium and low voltage switchgear, MCC and electrical equipment.Previous Experience using CAD and EPLAN software.Knowledge of quality management systems.Knowledge of ERP systems.Adept in MS Office applications – Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project.
