Senior Electrical Engineer Infrastructure Hybrid Job In London

Job Description

Mission CIMA+ is currently seeking applications for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer for our Kitchener or Mississauga office, to support our dynamic Infrastructure group that is rapidly expanding in Ontario. Bowmanville, London, Guelph or Burlington office work locations will also be considered. Qualified individuals will have 10 or more years of experience in the electrical engineering discipline. The successful candidate should have strong interpersonal skills, experience in electrical engineering design / analysis, with project management and business development skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Work within a multidisciplinary design team as the Lead Electrical Engineer, reporting to the Project Manager
2. Develop electrical power distribution system designs, including single line diagrams, site plan power layouts, overcurrent protection, emergency power generation, lighting layouts, and power distribution plans
3. Develop Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) designs for SCADA monitoring/control systems, including control panels, P&IDs, Process Control Narratives, I/O lists, instrument selections, network diagrams, and communication panels
4. Prepare designs, calculations, plans, specifications, contract documents for building services related to municipal applications including water and wastewater facilities for power distribution, lighting, general distribution, communications, and security systems
5. Develop design reports, specifications, proposals, project schedules, cost estimates (proposals and construction) and as-built construction drawings
6. Conduct field work including investigations, studies, inspections for the design and construction of electrical distribution and I&C shop drawing reviews, life safety, and communications
7. Perform site visits to validate scope requirements and determine existing assets condition and prepare site survey reports
8. Liaise with clients, government, regulatory authorities, and contractors
9. Review progress and compliance of construction work with the tender documents and participate in factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT) for electrical and instrumentation equipment
10. Complete projects from kick-off through completion of Construction / Commissioning
11. Mentor and/or manage junior engineers and co-op students

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
2. Licenced Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
3. Minimum of 10 years of electrical engineering experience working on water and wastewater or industrial projects
4. Proven experience in site work, detailed design, project engineering and construction
5. Capable to interact with our client base in order to understand their problems and recommend solutions
6. Entrepreneurial skills that will contribute to the growth of the business
7. Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
