Creation Technologies is a high complex, low volume electronics contract manufacturing company with 14 operating locations across Canada, the U.S., Mexico and China.Reporting to the Regional Accounting Leader, the Senior Cost Accountant is responsible any manufacturing and costing related activities within the business unit. This position also works with the rest of the accounting team across the enterprise in acquisition integration, system implementation, process and reporting standardization, and control review and enhancement to ensure that we continue to provide high quality and accurate reporting in the very efficient and effective way while safeguard the company’s asset. The successful candidate is someone who has in-depth knowledge and experience in manufacturing costing, financial reporting under IFRS, and can tailor its communication depending on the topic and audience.Responsibilities Managing manufacturing accounting and costingPrepare detailed weekly/monthly management reports and working files for operations, with an emphasis on manufacturing job costing, standard cost, and variance analysis (job close variance, purchase price variance, invoice price variance, labor variance, etc)Compile and analyze financial information for ledger entries and business transaction documentationConduct monthly financial close, reporting, and general ledger reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in cost-related entriesImplement and refine accounting and internal controls, with a particular focus on manufacturing and costing processesMaintain and optimize the Chart of Accounts and financial reporting structure to reflect manufacturing cost considerations accuratelyAnalyze, interpret, and explain results to budget, forecast, and standard costEngage with internal and external auditors, providing expert insights into control and process deficiencies and recommendations for improvementsOther duties assignedPersonalCharacteristics Demonstrated ability to build strong and trusting relationships with managers, employees and peersAdvanced communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information in an easily understood manner tailoring the communication to diverse audiences to facilitate understandingExceptional time management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work within established deadlines and time constraintsDemonstrated ability to act on own initiative and exercise professional judgmentAbility to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detailSelf-motivated, work independently, as well as being part of a teamExceptional interpersonal and motivational skillsExcellent problem solving and analyticalthinking/innovationExperience Good working knowledge of IFRSMinimum 5 years of accounting experience within a dynamic manufacturing environmentMinimum 2 years of dedicated cost accounting experience, especially in manufacturing job costing, standard cost, and variance analysisDemonstrated ability to partner effectively with senior business leaders, with a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing operationsAdvanced analytical and financial modeling skills, with a strong ability to measure and communicate financial performance, particularly in manufacturing cost analysisProven track record as a key member of a high-performance accounting team in a manufacturing settingExperience with Tier1 ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) is preferredQualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree, Accounting/Business major ispreferableProfessional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent)Equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be consideredIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between USD $90k-$105k per year. Full-time employees are also eligible for performance-based bonuses and benefits.
