SUMMARY:

Lantic is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Corporate Buyer at our Montreal head office. The position reports to the Corporate Director of Procurement. The senior corporate buyer is responsible for the acquisition of goods and services necessary to maintain operations and the daily needs of production at the Montreal refinery. Establishes agreements/contracts signed with our strategic business partners. In addition, the senior buyer plays a corporate role in projects, process standardization and cost reduction initiatives. All in compliance with Lantic policies, procedures and regulations.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define and implement effective procurement strategies on cost reduction initiatives;
  • Assume the role of negotiator with suppliers;
  • Establish growth as well as maintain strategic relationships with suppliers;
  • Analyze/challenge the submissions received;
  • Research, analyze and qualify new sources for procurement;
  • Monitor and validate the evolution and execution of service agreements/contracts; Select and process purchase requests;
  • Manage and monitor purchase orders;
  • Prioritize and support operations requests;
  • Support and monitor local/corporate innovation projects;
  • Coordinate production tests;
  • Support internal customers in achieving their objectives;
  • Update and maintain documentation: Purchasing – ISO;
  • Replace fellow buyers if necessary;
  • Participate in the annual evaluation of suppliers;
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of procedures;
  • Attend departmental meetings, provide support during monthly presentations;
  • Be involved in the development of corporate budgets;
  • Monitor non-conformities with internal teams and the supplier; monthly budget monitoring;
  • All other related tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in procurement or administration;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a buyer in the manufacturing industry;
  • Very good knowledge of procurement techniques (processes & procedures) and MRP;
  • Knowledge of the packaging products market an asset;
  • Mastery of MS Office, Outlook, Maximo, Navision tools;
  • Knowledge and compliance with ISO, HACPP standards; FSSC22000
  • Good management of priorities and sense of organization;
  • Analytical mind, rigor;
  • Autonomy and sense of responsibility;
  • Great skills in negotiation and communication;
  • Bilingual English/French spoken and written in order to be able to communicate with our English and French speaking sites;
