Job Description
Job Title: Senior Civil/Structural Engineer
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Civil/Structural Engineer will work on project teams to create high-quality designs for new and existing projects on a variety of industries including Oil & Gas facilities, process facilities, telecommunication facilities, corporate, industrial, and manufacturing facilities. The Senior Civil/Structural Engineer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction phases as required.
- Performs civil and structural design of projects from the conceptual phase through detailed engineering design, construction support, as-building, and turnover.
- Creates, revises, and reviews drawings for a variety of projects including, but not limited to: Oil & Gas plants, telecommunication facilities, process facilities, and industrial facilities.
- Applies strong knowledge of commonly used civil and Structural engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the civil engineering industry.
- Compiles information for presentations, reviews shop drawings, contract administration for the Civil and Structural packages.
- Prepares Engineering and Construction Work packages.
- Performs off-site fabrication and on-site field inspections, measurements, assessments, and calculations.
- Reviews and approve vendor design packages.
- Able to work independently as required by project.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited institution/program
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered with the APEGA (Alberta) or with another province in Canada.
- A minimum 8 years of civil/structural engineering experience with some consulting experience.
- Experience with design and fabrication of prefabricated buildings such as E-house, Instrumentation Buildings, Telecom Buildings, Protection & Control Building, Switch Gear Buildings
- Experience with design and fabrication of steel structures such as Telecom Towers
- Strong knowledge in standard civil and structural engineering techniques and procedures.
- Strong diligence, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Drafting skills (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, Smart plant 3D, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D) are advantages.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55.00-$70.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
