Job Description

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will support projects that span multiple disciplines within our organization in order to deliver high quality and sustainable solutions to our clients. Your experience in the industry and/or consulting, as well as your project and people skills will enable you to make a difference in our industry and inspire new and better ways to implement engineering and water management solutions. Responsibilities: Undertake and oversee various technical Civil, Geotechnical and Environmental engineering tasks. Complete front-end, preliminary and detailed design in a variety of technical contexts, focused on Civil and Geotechnical engineering designs. Develop engineering reports, such as Design Basis Memorandums, Geotechnical Reports and Construction Completions Reports. Perform site visits, site inspections and field engineering roles. Mentor junior team members. Develop and implement complex engineering and field programs. Foster critical relationships with clients, technical and non-technical staff, government representatives, and technology suppliers. Support the development of cost estimate and schedules for project deliverables. Interface with other departments to develop and implement multi-disciplinary project strategies. Position Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited curriculum in Engineering with specialization in Civil or Environmental Engineering with specialization in Civil or Environmental Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology. Minimum 10+ years applicable experience in industry or the consulting sector. Registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) Requirements: Experience with storm and sanitary sewer design, stormwater management design and modelling. Experience with Civil earthworks designs related to stormwater reservoirs, earthen structures, small and large earthen dams, surface water management, roadways, underground piping, and site grading. Experience with preparation of clear and comprehensive reports, construction execution plans, technical notes and client presentations. Experience with client facing roles. Experience with geotechnical design and analysis, using slope stability software. Excellent English communication skills, and experience in preparing and reviewing technical reports. Proven leadership, business development and client communication skills. Knowledge of key North American industrial sectors, such as mining or oil and gas an asset. Legally able to work in Canada.
