CompanySixone’s mission is to enable a world where blended plastics products can be circularly recycled back into existing supply chains instead of being sent to landfill. Sixone is developing technologies to enable advanced recycling of blended plastics and plastic-based products. The company’s technology applies process digitalization and advanced analytics to build a depolymerization reactor tailored to enable efficient plastics recycling. The company aims to fundamentally change the economics behind current recycled materials through advanced processing and materials technologies. Job OverviewWe seek a skilled and experienced engineer to lead our process engineering team to develop and scale up our chemical recycling technology. A successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the process design and validation, manage a team of engineers, and collaborate with external partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong chemical and process engineering background and a proven track record of successful prototyping, scale up, project management, and team leadership. Description of ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the reactor/process design and scale-up team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure project successCollaborate with leadership team to define project goals, deliverables, and timelinesConduct research and analyze data to validate process design and identify deficienciesCreate and evaluate design concepts and make recommendations based on technical feasibility and cost-effectivenessDevelop detailed specifications, including materials, instrumentation, and process control systemsOversee the manufacturing process, including the procurement of materials and equipmentManage external partnerships, including communication and collaboration with external engineering firms and vendorsOversee the testing and commissioning of the reactor, including safety protocols and compliance with regulatory requirementsContinuously monitor and optimize the performance of the reactor, identifying areas for improvement and driving implementation of solutionsEnsure project goals are achieved within budget and on time Candidate RequirementsBachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field10 years of experience in process design and development or technology scale-upStrong understanding of chemical and physical sciences and their application to reactor designExperience managing and leading engineering teamsFamiliarity with safety protocols and regulatory requirements for reactor design and operationExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a teamDemonstrated ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlinesComfort working in a dynamic environment
