Horizon Recruitment Inc. has an excellent opportunity to join a large public sector organization focusing on the capital asset accounting for a large operating budget. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to take on a wide breadth of responsibilities while enjoying the summer months! During the summer they operate on a 4 day work week model until September. Responsibilities:The Senior Accountants responsibilities include budgeting, financial analysis, accounting, monitoring, training, and reporting on expenditures relative to the assigned portfolio. Additional responsibilities include various account reconciliations and analyses, managing the Inventory module and managing the General Ledger software module related to inventory.Specific Accountabilities: Prepares quarterly financial projections (expenditures) and variance analysis for various departments. Prepares and analyzes information for monthly and annual financial reporting. Assists departments in the preparation of budgets and monitoring expenditures. Interprets financial results and provides ad hoc financial analysis to the departments for decision making purposes. Provide accounting advice on accounting policies and practices specific to the respective departments. Manages the Inventory module and the General Ledger software modules related to inventory; involves troubleshooting system issues, ensuring integrity of the interfaces and implementing changes due to changing requirements. Responsible for inventory management, including performing the inventory count at yearend. Responsible for prepaid, petty cash and inventory account reconciliations and analyses. Responsible for monthly balancing of the general ledger. Responsible for daily review and verification of general ledger balances for accounts receivable and accounts payable sub-ledgers and investigating any differences.
