With headquarters in Vancouver, Canada, Taseko Mines Limited is a leading North American copper producer across a range of key dimensions: operational efficiency; low energy and GHG intensity, environmentally sound, socially responsible development; healthy and safe workplaces and communities.
The Company’s foundational asset is the long-life, low-cost Gibraltar copper mine in south-central British Columbia, for which it has won numerous environmental and safety awards for operational excellence. Gibraltar is a state-of-the-art facility and the second largest open pit copper mine in Canada, with a 700+ person workforce. Gibraltar produces an average of 130 million pounds of copper and 2.5 million pounds of molybdenum each year, with mineral reserves sufficient for more than 20 years of future operations.
Taseko is also advancing the Florence Copper Project in Arizona – a ne ar-term copper producer with an unparalleled energy, water and GHG profile per unit of production. Florence Copper is a unique ‘in-situ copper recovery’ project which, once operating, will significantly increase Taseko’s copper production. Once fully operational, t he project will have a production capacity of 85 million pounds of copper per year over a 20-year mine life.
The Yellowhead Project is a large, long-life copper project that Taseko added to its development portfolio in 2019. Located 150km north of Kamloops in the Thompson-Nicola region of BC, the Yellowhead deposit is similar to the Gibraltar deposit in size and grade. The Company is currently preparing to initiate the provincial and federal Environmental Assessment process for Yellowhead, while advancing technical and ot her work required to move the project towards production.

Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates leadership with the highest professional and ethical standards ensuring all procurement activities are transparent and in accordance with policies, standards, and values of the organization .
- Manage s the request for proposal process, including: planning, preparation, and management of the RFP documents and p rocess; supporting internal users to develop SOW; analyzing and evaluating commercial proposals; managing the technical evaluation process; negotiating commercial and legal terms on behalf of the company ; recommending award based on overall best value; negotiating , executing, and awarding contracts; and ensuring all records are managed and retained.
- Lead s the proponent evaluation, selection, negotiation, and implementation of purchase orders for major purchases and services.
- Assess business risk and make recommendations to mitigate exposure to the organization.
- Presents alternatives and possible solutions to address and resolve current or potential issues that maybe impact stakeholders.
- M anage s and close s out contracts when necessary.
Professi onal Experience / Qualifications
- Advance knowledge in complex procurement and tendering processes .
- H ighly effective skills in organization, planning and communication , and the ability to work in a team environment .
- Proactively demonstrates initiative, accountability, and diligence.
- S trong time management and organizational skills and the ability to multitask on several projects simultaneously .
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills .
- H ighly organized and detail-oriented .
- Advance knowledge and understanding of contracts lifecycle management .
- Experience in a mining or industrial construction environment is considered an asset.
- Experience and working knowledge in a union environment would be advantageous.
Education
- A diploma or business-related bachelor’s degree .
- 3 to 5 years of sourcing, bid evaluation, selection, negotiation, and execution of various types of purchase agreements, preferably in the mining industry.
- SCMP designation or equivalent preferred .
