About Botsford Associates Botsford Associates is currently seeking an experienced Senior Technical Analyst/Data Engineer to join our Capital Markets Risk Management practice. What is the opportunity? This role is an experienced business and data analyst position focused on supporting the Enterprise Risk Technology Portfolio of Projects. These projects aim to modernize several applications and systems, primarily in the Enterprise Risk areas, Emerging Risks, and other initiatives. One significant initiative includes a Strategic Climate Risk implementation. The Climate Risk Implementation involves strategic sourcing of data from multiple sources, building a framework for storing this data, and making it available to a data modeling environment. Various Climate Risk metrics will be calculated for internal management and regulatory purposes. You will manage the business analysis aspects of IT delivery for Climate Risk, focusing on delivering data and functional specification documents, creating Excel prototypes of data processing, and providing detailed business requirements walkthroughs to Dev and QA teams. Responsibilities Develop a detailed understanding of the current state, including data feeds required for Enterprise Risk Engines and Reporting. Understand the changes required in the current state to support the future strategic platform for the client. Identify new data sources for a range of (PCAF) Asset Classes – Residential Real Estate, Commercial Real Estate, Sovereign Debt, Project Finance, Listed Equity and Corporate Bonds, Business Loans, and unlisted Equities. Map and provide rules for the transformation of data from multiple sources into standardized data feeds required for the Climate Risk engines. Work closely with business users to understand business requirements and demonstrate system functionality. Prepare high-level and detailed requirements and specifications for the project in accordance with SDLC objectives. Efficiently perform business analysis tasks, including documentation of requirements, data analysis, and UAT. Collaborate closely with the development team, explain the requirements, validate design assumptions for various business scenarios, and support testing. Support QA/Business teams in creating UAT test cases against business requirements. What do you need to succeed? Must Have: Experience with Agile methodologies and projects related to pricing/risk and Market and Credit/Counterparty data for Risk engines. Relevant Risk experience, including modeling different product types such as Bonds, Equity, FX, etc., for Market and Counterparty Credit Risk exposures. Understanding of financial instruments, including Rates Derivatives, Credit Derivatives, Equity Derivatives, FX Options & FX Cash, and their valuation. Exposure to Banking Loan Book and other products. Knowledge of market and counterparty risk management. 10 years of previous work experience as a Business or Data Analyst, or in a technical/functional role. Strong documentation skills – ability to succinctly articulate requirements, summarize data analysis, and present to business users and the development team. Proficiency in Python, Anaconda, Pandas, Jupyter, Linux, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and other big data technologies. Strong data analysis skills, including analyzing large data sets using SQL queries and other modeling tools. Experience producing and using Data Catalogues, understanding data models, and business process modeling. Experience building enterprise-scale applications involving large data volumes and computations. Bachelor's degree in Sciences, Information Technology, Computer Science, or another quantitative discipline. Nice to Have: Good understanding of Climate Risk Initiatives, Environmental, Social, and Governance investment policies & frameworks for financial institutions. Professional risk/finance certifications (e.g., FRM, PRM, CFA).
