Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst with experience in Business Intelligence to help us keep growing across Canada. The Senior Business Analyst will work within teams to transform business needs into solutions, whether these solutions result in product configurations, product developments, systems integration, training or process recommendations. They will be responsible for formatting and standardizing data for the organization to be usable by the business. The Senior Business Analyst will be in charge of implementing functional objects format, for mapping data into this format, and defining how data will be visualized. They can also be responsible for one or several business objects within their data domain in terms of its definition, collection, classification, protection, use and quality.

Primary duties:

  • Work with business clients, to understand their requirements, and produce functional specification documents;
  • Prepare and facilitate workshops with stakeholders, in collaboration with other team members;
  • Elicit, analyze, validate and document business requirements, recommend solutions and best practices required to implement and support the business; work closely with the DB&T team and vendors to implement required solutions;
  • Support the manager in conducting high-level analysis of enterprise wide system changes including; analysis, deployment scoping, project plan definition and business case writing;
  • Gather business data; Design functional objects: Be accountable for the functional object’s identity card (definition, example, belonging to a data domain, compliance requirements, links to other BO, etc);
  • Data modeling: Ensure that the data modeling of the functional object is up to date;
  • Data integration: Responsible for the data life cycle, from creation, storage, modification, archiving to the deletion of data if necessary. He/she therefore ensures that the company’s databases are properly organized so that they can be used by the other Data management actors;
  • Data quality: Define data rules, monitor them, and implement action plans to improve data quality;
  • Data ownership: Make strategic decisions;
  • Produce quality deliverables such as scope of work, business requirement document, process workflows, specifications document, test plans, and training plans;
  • Manage the requirements lifecycle with traceability from business requirements to testing;
  • Define and validate solutions that meet business needs, goals, or objectives;
  • Participate in the evaluation and benchmarking of market solutions when required;
  • Support the Project or Delivery Manager in the planning and execution of the project or initiative;
  • Prepare and execute the different test scenarios (functional and integration);
  • Assist project teams during the implementation of solutions;
  • Provide support and business expertise in all technical matters.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in administration or computer science or a related field;
  • 9+ years experience as a business analyst (IT), data steward, experience in business analysis & business process, data modeling an asset;
  • CBAP certification (an asset);
  • Agile certification (an asset);
  • PMP (an asset);
  • Data Steward certification (an asset);
  • Experience with ERP systems; Knowledge of “Quote-to-Cash” processes;
  • Have a solid understanding of data management principles, including data modeling, data quality, data security, data privacy, and data governance;
  • Basic understanding of technical matters, such as: API, Statistics, Analytics ML, Data Base, SQL, etc;
  • Understanding / basic knowledge of data analytics (Business Intelligence, Data visualization, Data science)
  • Good understanding / knowledge of local data protection regulations;
  • Experience in technology such as Looker Studio, PowerBI;
  • Knowledge of Google Apps;
  • Experience with Agile concepts
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team as a project leader;
  • Ability to analyze available facts, observations, and arguments to form a judgment;
  • Knowing how to listen, transmit information, or convey a message clearly and in an impactful way, while adapting to one’s audience. Date to speak with honesty and respect in order to progress collectively;
  • Ability to take a decision and mobilize adapted resources to contribute to decision making if needed;
  • Ability to have strong time management, ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills

Permanent position, offered on a full-time basis, with regular day working schedules from Monday to Friday.

Hybrid work offered accross Canada, with 20% of travelling.
