Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in (RESPONSIBILITIES):

  1. Provide design, calculations, and technical support for the layout of plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems in retrofit or new projects.
  2. Complete engineering studies and assessments with accompanying reports
  3. Convert markups into working CAD or Revit MEP drawings.
  4. Compile and prepare specifications relevant to each project.
  5. Manage communications with clients and other consultants.
  6. Manage deadlines, lead coordination efforts with other disciplines or consultants, and oversee the quality of deliverables.
  7. Review shop drawings and reply to requests for information submitted by contractors during the construction phase.
  8. Prepare change notices, change orders, and payment certificates as part of contract administration during construction.
  9. Conduct site surveys during investigative/design phases and complete routine site reviews during construction as part of the obligation to complete general reviews per OBC and to assure adherence to contract documents.
  10. Assist and contribute to the preparation of proposals and fees.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Professional Engineer licensed in Ontario. Eligibility to practice in Quebec is an asset.
  • 8-10 years of experience in the design of plumbing and drainage, HVAC, fire protection, and BAS system
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC control systems
  • Well-versed and familiar with applicable codes and standards including, but not limited to, the OBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, CSA and National Plumbing Code
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office and Excel
  • Self-motivated with strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads and expedited timelines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in French is advantageous.
