What you’ll be doing:

  • Stay abreast of emerging risks and trends in non-financial risk management including awareness of legislation, regulations and guidance, financial industry trends and initiatives, best practices, and implementation of these practices.

  • Participate and continuously improve non-financial risk management program frameworks and documents; including, but not limited to, policies, standards, directives, guidelines, and procedures.

  • Participate in the planning and design of non-financial risk management initiatives and methods.

  • Advise the lines of business on how to effectively complete their risk and control self-assessments.

  • Research operational losses within the industry, system, and organization to better understand and measure the likelihood and impact of such losses in the future.

  • Work with the lines of business to establish and/or improve appropriate key risk indicators that signal approaching risk events

  • Assist in the response to non-financial risk incidents, including operational failures, compliance breaches, and reputational events. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.

  • Monitor and review the effectiveness of risk management controls and update them as required. Recommend controls and practices, in a business supportive and risk appropriate manner.

  • Perform data analysis to identify trends and patterns and utilize risk modelling techniques to predict and quantify non-financial risks.

  • Develop and maintain risk dashboards. Prepare and present risk reports to internal and external stakeholders. Communicate risk related issues and recommendations effectively to all relevant stakeholders.

  • Develop and deliver training programs to increase awareness and understanding of non-financial risks. Promote a risk-aware culture within the organization

What you’ll have:

  • University degree and 4-6 years operational risk management, enterprise risk management and/or audit work experience in Banking and/or Management Consulting

  • Experience in executing or providing oversight over Risk and Control Assessments, Risk and Loss Events and Issue Management

  • · Experience with process optimization and automation, including data analysis and risk modelling.

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with MS Office Suite of Products

  • Knowledge and practical experience with visual analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI) and concepts

  • Knowledge of Model Risk Management Governance, and interest in data management and modelling of non-financial risks

  • Risk management certifications (FRM, PRM) or working towards it

  • Familiarity with GRC Systems

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to anticipate future risks and opportunities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop strong relationships across all levels of the organization

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity / complex concepts and effectively prioritize & execute asks in a high-pressure environment.

  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.

  • Highly self-motivated and directed with Team-oriented skills for working in a collaborative environment.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and ability to prioritize competing demands

  • High level of integrity and ethical standards

Salary: $84,600

The salary represents the job rate determined for the successful candidate who is fully competent in the role. The actual salary will vary depending on market conditions and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
