What youll do: Liaise with internal and external business units to ensure accurate recording of fixed asset transactions including additions, depreciation, disposals, retirement, and sales of assetsEnsure that fixed asset accounts and other assigned general ledger accounts are properly reconciled, and any issues are communicatedPrepare depreciation reasonability analysisOwnership of category budgeting/forecasting models and support retail banner depreciation projection for budget processIdentify and support the impairment of assets processActive involvement with period end close activities including JE preparations, reconciliations & in-depth analysis.Prepare and review periodic, quarterly, and annual fixed assets schedules for financial reportingProvide necessary reporting for tax filings and ad-hoc tax audit requestsParticipate in the development and implementation of projects, policies and/or procedures, aimed at improving productivity for the department.Ownership of periodic depreciation test runs and report extraction for the teamOwnership of the year-end SAP close and roll over processTake a lead role in ensuring that department objectives and initiatives are completedAct as team lead in relation to answering inquiries and giving direction to team members on processes and policies.Assist with ad-hoc and cross functional projects and initiatives as required.Commitment to promoting a workplace of inclusiveness and belonging What youll need: Ability to converse comfortably with business partnersProven ability to influence and drive business improvement decisions.A minimum of 5 years of previous applicable industry experience, or a combination of education and experience.Degree in B.Comm, Business Administration or AccountingExperience with SAP, SQL, dashboard & BI reporting would be beneficial A professional designation would be beneficialAbility to implement required process improvement or transitioning new workStrong organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail and commitment to excellenceDemonstrated ability to work independently or part of a teamAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook & Power BIAbility to work well independently and as part of a teamOur commitment to Sustainability and Social Impact is an essential part of the way we do business, and we focus our attention on areas where we can have the greatest impact.
