AI will be their web designer, their marketing agency, their office admin, and their accountant.
We launched the first AI Website builder (before chatGPT!), and have generated over 5 million sites.
We have a long way to go to accomplish our ambitious vision. We raised a $14m Series A from Spark Capital last year, are generating significant revenue, and are a team of 20.
We're hiring a Senior AI Engineer to join us and 10x our AI capabilities.
You will be supported in the role by an experienced leadership team and a great working culture.
About the team
Durable's AI team focuses on improving AI experiences for Durable customers. We are using the latest LLMs and AI engineering to help our customers automate the building of websites, customer workflows, and optimizing their businesses. Some areas we are currently working on:
- Fine-tuning an "AI web designer" model that automatically provides feedback and improves websites built with Durable
- Building automations like SEO, customer lead communication, and marketing content generation
- Enabling website editing and creation with natural language
- Gathering feedback from customers and synthesizing to drive product development
What you'll do
We are looking for an experienced software engineer to help develop, drive, and implement our roadmap. You will have the opportunity to drive innovation and create a new category of AI-first business software.
Responsibilities
- Design and build innovative tools and experiences and the highly performant, AI-powered systems
- Deeply understand our user needs and ensure we are solving the right problems
- Be an expert and leader at the company for all things AI engineering (fine-tuning models, RAG, prompt engineering, infrastructure)
- Improve processes and performance of our AI infrastructure
- Mentor other members of the team
- Advise leadership on key technology and roadmap decisions
Who you are
Ambitious, ready to move fast, obsessed with AI, and enthusiastic.
- 7+ years experience in full-time software roles
- Hands-on applied ML and AI engineering experience (building products where LLMs are core to the product experience)
- Experience fine-tuning LLMs
- Experience at a fast moving startup or fast-moving team at a BigCo
- Experience leading teams and mentoring other engineers
- Passion for our customer base - small businesses and new entrepreneurs
Preferred qualifications
- You keep up-to-date on the latest in AI engineering practices and research
- You’ve previously worked on large-scale consumer or B2B tools
- You move fast and work well with limited scope and imperfect information
- You are ambitious, and want to build something that positively impacts millions of business owners around the world.
Remote work @ Durable
We are a remote-first company with in-person hubs with 24/7 access.
This role is open to anyone in North America.
Compensation
Compensation for this role is $160,000 to $240,000 (USD).
