Job Description

Role Overview:

As a senior specialized accounting and financial operations advisor for DGAM clients, working for the subsidiary Desjardins Investment Product Operations Management, you contribute to the operational development and support of the Services and Operations, Asset Management, and Reconciliation Department. In your role, you use your knowledge and experience in investment accounting, market finance, and business taxation to ensure the engineering and stability of the business processes related to the subsidiary's and the internal DGAM partner's mission.

Responsibilities:

  1. Help build and maintain modern processes that support the financial reporting activities of Desjardins Group's insurance subsidiaries.
  2. Demonstrate leadership and initiative to provide the level of service established with clients and ensure appropriate representation with decision-making bodies.
  3. Play an active leadership role in monitoring and integrating accounting and tax standards for traditional and alternative investments (infrastructure, private equity, bank loans, etc.).
  4. Influence practitioners on development projects and complex strategic initiatives.
  5. Interact with many stakeholders working in a wide range of fields in finance, accounting, and taxation.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting
  2. A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in investment accounting and market finance
  3. CPA designation or accounting equivalent
  4. Proficiency in the operational and accounting disclosure processes for business investments in compliance with IFRS accounting standards
  5. Knowledge of market finance and securities and their main features
  6. Knowledge of specialized core business systems such as Eagle, eFront, Oracle, SS&C, SimCorp, Bloomberg, SQL, etc.
  7. Advanced knowledge of Office Suite: Excel, PowerBI, etc.
  8. Programming knowledge: SQL or similar
  9. Knowledge of French is required.
  10. Proficient speaker, advanced knowledge of English
