Primary Location: Elijah Smith Building – Yukon

Secondary Location: maybe required to workoff-site at events

Position Title: Security Guard Site Supervisor

Shifts: Monday – Friday 08:00 - 16:00 (full-time); occasional evening and weekends as needed.

Reports to: Client Service Manager

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide superior customer service to clients and general public.
  • Scheduled security staff and security contractor escorts.
  • Book appointments and reserve meeting rooms using Outlook calendar.
  • Provide access control and security foot patrols as needed.
  • Proactively respond to and resolve emergency situations and conflicts.
  • Complete evacuation and emergency response procedures.
  • Communicate problems or concerns to the Client Service Manager.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must be able to obtain a reliable status security clearance with Government of Canada.
  • Must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft suite programs – to book appointments.
  • Must be able to stand and sit for long periods at a time.
  • Must be able to work in a range of weather conditions to perform outdoor foot patrols.
  • Must be fluent in the English language - written, verbal and reading skills.
  • Must have a positive attitude with a professional demeanor, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Have excellent attention to detail to fulfill duties and responsibilities and incident report writing.
  • Have excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to handle emergency situations in a calm manner.
  • Have the ability to work independently and make sound decisions in varying situations.
  • Have a demonstrated interest and experience in serving the public.
