Job Description
The School of Optometry & Vision Science at the University of Waterloo, within the Faculty of Science, is seeking an exceptional scholar and researcher who will contribute to research excellence at the School. The anticipated start date is September 1, 2024.
The School is looking for candidates with a PhD or equivalent relevant to the areas of Optometry and Vision Science. Candidates should be at the rank of Full Professor. The candidate will also present evidence of successful Tri-Agency funding, or equivalent, and an active research program that aligns with a research pillar(s) within the School of Optometry & Vision Science. Successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to scholarship and teaching and develop a robust, externally funded research program that supports a diversity of graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. Evidence of an actively developing interdisciplinary research program is required in the area of 1) adaptive optics scanning laser ophthalmoscopy (AOSLO) and 2) cellular-scale retinal imaging with subjective testing. Experience with intellectual property development,
entrepreneurship and commercialization would be an asset.
