Sales Representative (KW, Guelph, Brantford and surrounding areas)

Charton Hobbs (CH) is a well established, highly reputable national wine, spirits, sales, and marketing agency selling such brands as Moet Hennessy, Luxardo, Perrin and many other premium brands. Our team is expanding, and we are looking for driven team players.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Provincial Sales Manager, this position’s mandate is to increase the sales and market share of the Charton Hobbs portfolio of brands within the parameters set and in line with expectations of the company. The Sales Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining critical partner relationships with retail and on-trade accounts. The primary role of this position is to increase the market share of CH’s portfolio by regularly calling on the territory’s best restaurants, and hotels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Drive sales of the Charton Hobbs portfolio in the assigned on-premise accounts meeting and exceeding assigned KPIs;

Maximize volume sales and product placements within the account base for LCBO, VINTAGES and consignment priority brands.

Placement and activation of icon brands while maintaining brand standards.

Placement and activation of premium spirits portfolio in key accounts.

Organize field days for supplier principals and ambassadors in accordance with management expectations.

Nurture long term and collaborative partnerships with accounts at all levels of store organization

Budget management.

Management/Administrative & Other Responsibilities:

Record and manage daily activities through the CH CRM system ensuring accurate records.

Maintain accurate and current account data base through CRM.

Work to maximize budgets available and manage expenses within company guidelines.

Submit weekly planning, and daily mapping of achievements on your tablet.

Participation in supplier events and Ontario wine shows or events as required.

This position requires flexible hours and will sometimes require nights and weekends with Trade Shows, Supplier Dinners/Events outside of regular workdays.

The successful candidate must have an excellent track record as a career salesperson.

Product knowledge / enthusiasm for high-ticket wines & spirits is also required and previous key accounts selling experience is a plus. Restaurant/wine/food experience and special event planning experience is also necessary. This position also requires behind-the-scenes industry knowledge of future account openings in an expanding market.

Additional responsibilities include creating and organizing evening and weekend wine & spirits events with accounts as well as attendance at trade events that may also involve evenings and weekends.

Job Qualifications:

Experience:

University degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or equivalent discipline and/or minimum of 2 years experience in sales or management of a large wine & spirits portfolio. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing partnerships and wine/spirits/mixology knowledge an asset.

Skills:

Driven team player with strong interpersonal skills. Strength in sales with excellent written and verbal communication. Skilled presenter with ability to adapt to audiences.

Knowledge : Knowledge of the liquor industry (wine and spirits products as well as governmental policy and regulations) is preferred.

Successful completion of wine and spirit courses is an asset (e.g.: WSET 2)

Base salary plus incentive bonus, car allowance and benefits commensurate with experience. Business related expenses are also covered.
