Job Description

What you will be doing in the role of Sales Engineering:Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Develop and maintain relationships with various personnel of major customers and other personnel in various functional departments, such as: engineering, purchasing, maintenance, production and expediting.Spend approximately 75% of time with internally facing activities, while spending the approximate 25% of their remaining time with external, customer facing activities.Provide consultation to customers and potential customers to understand and assess product needs and provide product solutions available from the organization.Provide pre-sale education and assistance to potential customers regarding products and services offered and their ability to satisfy organizational needs.Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting problems with product implementation, providing solutions and ensuring the success of solution implementation.Advise customers on how best to utilize products purchased from the organization.Develop comprehensive product demonstrations.Train customer personnel in the use of and advantages inherent in products, services and solutions offered by Lakeside.Promote select new products and product improvements.Liaise with assigned customers to provide information on advanced, improved and/or modified products and their applications.Negotiate, calculate and prepare client quotations.Track bid and quote progress.Owner of defining sales processes including utilization of ISAs and Junior AEs.Develop strategies to overcome or eliminate obstacles that may hinder effective sales techniques.Provide technical mentorship and/or training to members of the Application Engineering team.Quotation follow-up and funnel management.Develop Differentiation and Value Selling Skills.Develop and maintain key relationships within assigned customers or projects/pursuits.Customer TrainingCapital PlanningRegularly Scheduled Customer reviewsKnowledge and skills required for the role:University degree in Engineering or Technologist Diploma in an Engineering disciplineTwo to Seven (2-7) years’ experience in a related roleTwo to Seven (2-7) years’ experience in technical sales with an understanding of process control equipmentKnowledge of process control and instrumentation productsMust be customer orientedMust have knowledge of account management conceptsStrategic thinking abilityThoroughnessResults orientedExcellent written and oral communication skillsPersonal credibilityWhat we give YOU!Flexible working schedules, including hybrid remote work programsA competitive compensation package, with RRSP-matchingComprehensive benefits coverage (medical, dental, vision, EAP & on-demand virtual health care)A culture that promotes healthy work-life balance with above-market paid time offChallenging work and direct exposure to key industries in the Canadian marketA structured training and development program and opportunities for continuous learningOpportunity to participate in an award-winning wellness program!About Us:Lakeside Process Controls Ltd.
