About us

We are a small and friendly GP practice located in Long Eaton, with excellent access to Nottingham or Derby or further afield, with junction 25 of the M1 being less than 2 miles away. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated GP to join our friendly and caring Practice as a salaried GP.

We pride ourselves on being a well-established training practice providing general medical services for our ever-growing practice list of 6300 patients. This is a rewarding and varied role, for a GP who shares our ethos of providing patient centred care and is motivated to maintain and improve our high QOF achievement and contribute to the development of the organisational and business aspect of the Practice.

We are a fully computerised Practice, using TPP SystmOne and working towards becoming paper light. We have an integrated nursing team including a Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurse and Health Care Assistant, and an efficient and supportive administration team.

Furthermore, we would ask that you work with, adhering to GMC standards for good general practice, contributing to the effective management of the Practice, leading by example, maintain a positive, collaborative working relationship with a multi-disciplinary team.

We believe that we offer a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, whilst at the same time trying to reduce as much pressure as possible for your working day, so that you can focus on providing great care to your patients.

You will find a minimum of signing related tasks and letter handling due to our workflow team who manage majority of this load.

Terms and Conditions are based on the BMA model and will be discussed with the successful candidate along with salary and working pattern may be negotiable.

Main duties of the role:

The following are the core responsibilities of the role:

  • The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitle population.
  • The provision of services commensurate with the M+PMS contract
  • Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
  • Effective management of long-term conditions
  • Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescriptions, and other associated administrative tasks.
  • On a rotational basis undertake the role of duty doctor
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance.
  • Collaborative working
  • Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process.
  • Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
  • Attend and contribute effectively to practice meeting as required.
  • Ensure compliance with the appraisal process.
  • Prepare and complete the revalidation process.
  • Commit to self-learning.
  • Support the training of medical students for all clinical disciplines.
  • Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure.
  • Review and always adhere to practice protocols and policies.
  • Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

As outlined, the successful candidate will work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, joining us in delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the PMS contract
