The division is focused on ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed and has designated numeracy and student mental health and wellness as division priorities. Northern Lights Public Schools invites applications for the following position: S2425-07 Educational Assistants - North Star Elementary School We are seeking multiple full-time (1.0 fte) positions to commence at the start of the 2024-2025 school year. These assignments involve assisting with student educational program needs including social skills, behaviour skills, self-help and personal care needs. These positions require a compassionate and energetic individual to work in a team environment. North Star Elementary School is located in the City of Cold Lake with approximately 500 students in Kindergarten to Grade 6.Walk in the doors of North Star Elementary School and you will feel the difference! The school is bright and spacious, children are engaged, happy and busy, the staff are energetic and friendly. Preference will be given to applicants who have : Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant Knowledge and experience with behavioural strategies Experience working one-on-one and/or in a group setting Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies Experience assisting student with self-help and personal care needs Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans Training and skills that would be an asset include: Relative experience in educational assistance, and/or rehabilitation SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training How to Apply: Interested applicants are required to create and complete all sections of their portfolio through the Apply On-Line link on our website, in the employment section.
