Position Summary

As a Road Test Evaluator, you will play a crucial role in assessing the driving skills and abilities of individuals seeking employment with Canada Cartage. You will be responsible for conducting road tests in accordance with Canada Cartages guidelines and regulations to determine if they meet the necessary criteria for safe and responsible driving.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:30am to 4:00pm

What you will do

  • Conduct road tests for individuals including both automatic and manual transmissions and specialized endorsements (AZ, DZ, G Class)
  • Evaluate the driving skills of applicants by observing their ability to conduct pre-trip, tractor-trailer hookups and maneuver a vehicle safely and confidently in various traffic conditions in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act
  • Provide clear and constructive feedback to applicants regarding their performance during the road test, highlighting areas for improvement
  • Ensure that all testing procedures are conducted in compliance with Canada Cartage, regulations, and company policies and in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act
  • Maintain accurate records of road test results and other relevant documentation
  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to continuously improve testing processes and uphold the highest standards of quality and professionalism

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience operating a commercial vehicle
  • Valid AZ license with a clean driving record
  • High school diploma
  • Familiarity with Ontario traffic laws including knowledge of HTA requirements and regulations

Along with the following Skills & Competencies: 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience using MS Office Suites
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
