Under broad supervision, conducts risk control assessment, evaluation, consulting and technical support for prospective, new and renewal business.JOB DESCRIPTION: Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines. • Performs onsite/remote Property & Casualty risk assessments and consultative risk improvement services, and makes risk recommendation for the underwriting function. Includes recommending solutions to customers to minimize risk. • Works with senior risk control staff to assess program needs and implements customized strategy. • Partners with underwriting and other areas to provide information for risk evaluation and assessment. Includes reviewing accounts for operational issues, claims, profitability and agency management, etc. • Performs root cause loss analysis with rating and trending of losses for key accounts. • Develops and maintains business relationships with internal and external business partners. • Delivers technical resource and training programs as required. • May identify opportunities for new products and services. • May provide expertise in one or more specialty area. • May perform additional duties as assigned. May be responsible for special projects and presentations.Skills, Knowledge and Abilities • Solid technical and product specific expertise, risk control evaluation and assessment skills and knowledge of insurance and risk control principles, practices and procedures. • Proficient knowledge of applicable NFPA Standards & Codes and FM Data Sheets. • Working knowledge and understanding of premises operations, product liability exposures. • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and presentation skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners. • Strong organizational skills including strong time management. Ability to work independently. • Customer focused with strong relationship building skills. • Ability to deal with ambiguous situations and issues. • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. • Ability to exercise independent judgement and make critical business decisions effectively. • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software. • Ability and willingness to travel extensively.Education and Experience • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Professional designations preferred. • Minimum three to five yearsprogressive insurance experience in Property & Casualtywith proven track record of results.
